Don’t let some people get to you

July 8th, 2008

Sometimes people and probably all of us do things that annoy other people.

Solution: don’t annoy others and forgive those who annoy you!

Not too far from reality?  As long as they’re not saving money on maintenance, right?

Doomsday: 2012

June 27th, 2008

Is it possible that our world could end in 2012? Is the Mayan Calendar accurate or is 2012 just fiction?

Can you spot 2012 on the picture above? I can’t!

Maybe the worst thing that will happen in 2012 is a bad dust storm in a few place and nothing more…Life will go on as usual, without any unusual, catastrophic incidents as some predict.

Australia, 2002

Some doomsday folks seem to believe that 2012 is the day and year when you will no longer need to worry about the price of gas, rising food costs or mortgage payments.  Everything that you think is so important in your life today might pale in comparison to what may happen  just 4 years from now.

Some people believe that life will go on as usual and that 2012 is just another fad.  They say that predictions about the end of the world are almost as old as  humankind itself.  If you  were standing  right  in the path of The Great Tsunami when it hit Indonesia, would you think the world was ending?   Think about the vast body of water surrounding the lands we live in. What if the oceans just raised high enough and invaded our coastal lines farther inland? Consider the possibility, while remote, of a shift in gravitational forces or  a  massive  earthquake like the one that hit Canada in 1958  dumping  over 40 million  cubic meters or rock  into the sea and causing a huge  wave!  How big was that wave? 1, 720 ft. high! Was it a mega-tsunami? Not even.  It was caused by an 8.3 earthquake near Lituya Bay. Here’s a picture to show you what I mean.  Look at how high the waves came and where they left their mark. It was massive:

And, here’s an obvious photo hoax but it’s not an impossibility. Wouldn’t  this ruin your vacation plans?

Thousand of men, women and children perished  in Indonesia in 2004. That was a reality.  I think that, to those people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time, those massive gigantic waves descending on them must have looked liked and felt like the end of the world.

If this baby goes off, it’s going to be bad news for people in many countries:

We’re talking about approximately 500 BILLION TONS of solid rock falling into the ocean at very high speeds. What does that mean, exactly? Well, think about 5,000,000,000,000,000 - that’s 5 thousand trillion joules of kinetic energy -  that would cause a wave so fast and so high that any Australian surfer would be proud to ride from here to eternity!

Has the  world ever ended before? is the Earth as old as we think it is and are we the first ones here? Is it possible that we are the last?  How reliable is carbon dating? Where did dinosaurs come from and how did they die? Will  Bible prophecies in Revelations actually come to pass in our time?

The question I ask is: was civilization ever destroyed before? Are we living the end of an Age?  Will you believe it when you see it?  Here’s a video that illustrates what might happen in 2012.  According to it, you may not make it to enjoy your retirement or your 401K. Of course, electing the wrong leaders might have the same effect, just not as devastating.

My Chaos Theory

June 3rd, 2008

I don’t know about you, but do you get a sense that the world has its heavy dose of chaos?

компютри

In religion, it’s a sense of  the Last Days  upon us and that the entire world is experiencing negative commotion where human behavior continues to defy common sense and logic.
